Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior qualifications?
No prior qualifications are required. The course is designed for any adult who wants to be able to support the young people in their life — parents, teachers, coaches, and community or youth workers alike.
What's the difference between the course formats?
Blended Online, Blended Face-to-Face and Face-to-Face all cover the same content and lead to the same accreditation — the difference is simply how it's delivered. Blended formats split the course into self-paced online modules plus a live component (video or in person); the full Face-to-Face format is delivered entirely in person.
How long is my certification valid for?
Your Certificate of Completion is valid for three years. Refresher training is available for renewal after that.
What if a public course doesn't reach the minimum number of participants?
If a public session doesn't reach the minimum group size, you'll be offered a full refund or a free transfer to another upcoming date — whichever suits you best.
Can our school get this training funded?
Victorian Department of Education schools can often access this training at no cost through designated mental health and wellbeing programs. Mention this when you register interest and Clare can talk you through what's available.
What's the minimum and maximum group size for in-house training?
In-house sessions need a minimum of 8 participants and can accommodate up to 22.
How far in advance do we need to book?
In-house training can generally be booked 2–4 weeks in advance, and Clare can accommodate evenings, weekends and school holidays where needed.
Is this certification recognised nationally?
Yes — Youth Mental Health First Aid is a nationally recognised accreditation, accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia.
